Over the years FAWE has graduated a team of young women and men whose lives have been transformed by FAWE Kenya’s initiatives. It is with this respect, that FAWE Kenya launched the alumni on 29th November 2014 at the FAWE Regional Secretariat Offices in Nairobi. The launch had participation of 35 former FAWE Kenya beneficiaries who were endorsed as the first members to the alumni. During the launch, an Executive Committee (EC) was formed using a secret ballot criterion taking into consideration the gender rule. The EC had 6 slots namely; Chairperson, Vice chairperson, Secretary General, Treasurer, Publicity Executive and 2 Committee members. The current committee has 4 ladies and 2 gentlemen. By virtue of the members being beneficiaries of FAWE Kenya themselves, the main aim of the alumni is to harness and inspire school going girls and boys to remain focused on education, and to foster positive change to the socio-cultural and economic context in which girls’ education is provided in Kenya.
